Dog's Info...

Meet Dale: This sweet little shy Terrier/Chihuahua mix had a rough start in life, here's what his foster writes about him:

"Dale is an extremely lovable little boy! Roughly around 10 pounds and vet thinks close to a year old. He is extremely shy and timid around new people and new places, but once he is comfortable he is a ball of joy! He loves to play with his foster sisters. He definitely loves his toys! Every day his personality shines more and more. He is definitely a character.

I’ve never had him around children so unsure how he is with them. He is interested in our cat but she is not Interested in him. I would think with a more dog friendly cat he would do well. He loves his foster sisters of all sizes and is almost inseparable with one of them. I think he would do best with another dog to help him feel more Comfortable. However I have never had him around a male dog, only females. I don’t know if he would have any issue with a male.

He is now neutered. He is kenneled trained for day time while we are out for work. His normal sleeping area is on the couch with his foster sister at night. He is almost fully house trained. He has a few accidents at night if given full roam of the house. We are working on leash training, still have a way to go.

I’ve recently had family visit and they came with a dog about the same age come who is extremely hyper. He was extremely territorial and upset if she came near his foster sisters. After about 3 days he was completely fine with her. So whoever is interested in him will need to be extremely patient and willing to work with him on his timid ness and fears.

He has definitely come a far way from the little straggly puppy found in the woods! Please let me know if you have any more questions."

***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet , as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets***
